Not every wedding feels the same to be in. Some days there's a looseness to it. People laughing too loud, vows that go off script, a first dance that turns into something else entirely. Those are the days I live for. You can't manufacture that. It either happens or it doesn't.
The older I get in this work the more I realize the best frames aren't always the ones I planned for. They're the ones that only happen because I stopped trying to direct and just let the day be what it was. Loud or quiet. Messy or still. Whatever is most true to the two people at the center of it.
I got here through years of photographing communities, families, and everyday people whose stories deserved to be remembered. That work taught me to see what's real and to never impose a version of someone's story that isn't theirs.
